Since the establishment of the United Way Community Fund over 35 years ago, the Ballarat Foundation has existed to serve the local community and support those in need.Through its mix of community programs, grant allocations, and advocacy projects the Ballarat Foundation champions giving in all forms in its quest to break the cycles of disadvantage accross Ballarat and surrounding regions.
 
United Way Ballarat works to advance the common good of the community by focusing on Education, Income and Health, the building blocks for a good life—a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. Since being founded in 1983 as the Ballarat & District Community Fund, United Way has distributed over $3 million and thousands of hours of volunteering back into the local community. Our goal is to unite Ballarat to care for Ballarat We do this by asking people to do three key things: GIVE, ADVOCATE, VOLUNTEER Because when we work together to care for our community we create a better Ballarat for all of us to live, work and play in.
